Your new job
We’re looking for a Data and Information Modeler who wants to solve complex, real-world problems to make life at home simpler. Your primary focus will be on designing, developing, and optimizing data and information models that help teams across IKEA understand, use, and unlock the full value of data and you’ll report to Data Management Manager. On a typical day, you will:
Design, develop, and support the governance of Product domain ontologies in IKEA Core Business Range.
Translate business processes and information needs into scalable, machine?readable semantic models.
Collaborate with cross?functional teams to ensure ontologies align with business objectives and operational requirements across the entire value chain.
Support the adoption of semantic web standards (RDF, OWL, SKOS, SHACL).
Ensure the quality and consistency of ontologies through validation methods.
Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and accessible way to non?technical stakeholders.
Maintain transparency and accessibility of ontology assets for teams across the IKEA landscape.
Continuously support improvement of modelling frameworks, standards, and knowledge?sharing practices.


What we’d like you to bring to the table
The role as a Data and Information Modeler requires you to have:
Proven professional experience in ontology or data modeling
Demonstrated aility to translate business needs into data models
Hands-on expertise with semantic web standards and technologies
Ability to naturally and effectively communicate, collaborate, network and build relationships across a complex organisation
Ability to explain the benefits of data & information models to non-technical and technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated analytical and systematic thinking
Experience with governance frameworks and quality assurance processes
Relevant academic education (e.g statistics, physics, mathematics, econometrics, computer science or similar)
A growth mind-set: curious to explore, eager to learn and finding better ways, as well as energised by sharing



It’s a plus if you also have:
Experience working with knowledge graph platforms, triple stores, or graph databases.
Familiarity with Agile ways of working and modern development practices.

Analytical mindset for reviewing processes and identifying risks.

Team player attitude - comfortable working cross-functional and supporting projects.
CIPP/E certification - (Certified Information Privacy Professional)

By being pro-actively involved with data domain management, you will interact with the data domains under your responsibility and ensure that the data stewards and data owners understand their roles in the organization. You will also take responsibility for identifying and managing critical data management issues and risks.

Another part of your role is enterprise data related process management and coordination for selected data domains. You will develop, maintain and communicate information management policies, rules, and standards and manage the Information Governance processes together with Data Owners and Information Management function. You will contribute to definition of Information Governance strategy. You will be also responsible for improving the awareness, understanding and deployment of information assets for the organization.

You will ensure the Information Governance standards and processes supports the analytics capability and business-related support provided for implementation of Information Governance tools if necessary. Part of your role is providing information technology advice and counsel on Information Governance and data management projects. You will also establish quality and performance metric tracking tools in coordination with the key stakeholders.

You will also have opportunity to lead and champion enterprise data management initiatives and coordinate enterprise data management operations (e.g. Information Governance, Master Data Management, Content Management etc.). You will be part of a global team of approx. 8 co-workers, providing the IKEA Components organisation and other stakeholders with correct information about the business performance. Our internal title for this role is Solution Expert BI and in this role, you will be reporting to the Process Development Manager. The position is located in Älmhult, Sweden. Älmhult has excellent commuting possibilities with hourly trains to Malmö, Lund and Växjö and an IKEA shuttle bus back and forth to Helsingborg three times a day.

About the assignment
Your main responsibilities as are:
•    Develop IKEA Component's BI solution with an end-to-end perspective
•    Act as an owner of the entire BI solution but with a clear focus on the backend (data warehouse)
•    Development and implementation of new measurements and KPIs
•    Drives the LCM for the solution
•    Supports planning of external resources and acts as an orderer towards the supplier
•    Is primary stakeholder within BI for development of business solutions and processes
•    Owns and develops the physical information model
•    Acts as an orderer towards data integration team
•    Supports report development and business analysis in all aspects of the solution
•    Supports the development of "Optimise Business Performance" process

Our current BI platform consists of a centralised data warehouse based on Microsoft products and Infor’s DWD as a modelling tool. We use Microsoft BI (Power BI and SSRS) as a frontend to our reports consumers.
