We are currently looking for a new manager for the Interior Design team at IKEA Älmhult. We believe that you as a person have great passion for Interior Design as well as for leading and developing people.
You have proven success in leading creative processes and creating a trustworthy environment. With a visual competence you also have an eye for aesthetics. You have a clear passion for home furnishing, design, how people live at home and you know how to apply it in a omni channel landscape. You thrive in a fast-paced everyday environment, you are positive towards quick changes and can pinpoint minor changes that make a significant impact.
As a leader, you demonstrate clear communication skills and can explain verbally concepts and visual interpretation. You feel comfortable with creating and implementing action plans, setting expectations, providing clear direction and follow up goals. In order to make the most efficient use of your time you prioritize and organize your work and the work of others to meet agreed upon goals and deadlines. You constantly improve and challenge our ways of working to develop our solutions and ambition to strengthen the IKEA brand in the future!

•reflecting the IKEA Brand identity by creating visual impact in all commercial, sales support and co-worker areas to strengthen the uniqueness of the IKEA identity.
•you will be responsible for developing, motivating, challenging, and supporting your team.
•ensure succession plans are in place, hold the responsibility for recruiting new co-workers to the team.

You have a deep passion and understanding for home furnishing and people’s everyday life at home. You are a creative thinker who can combine commercial opportunities with range presentation for financial results. You are also a team player with a background of working as visual merchandiser and Interior Designer. Experience with Revit will be highly regarded.
Furthermore, you have the ability to take personal initiative and prioritize and organize your own work to meet deadlines. With a lot of passion, imagination and brainstorming, we transform colors, textiles and furniture into inspiring environments that captivate, engage and convince IKEA visitors that they can do it too!

As a Visual Merchandiser/ Interior Design Co-worker you will be responsible for:
- Contributing to positioning the IKEA store as the first choice for home furnishing in your local market.
- Actively contribute in the gathering of insights from home visit interviews and translating this knowledge into locally relevant, functional, aesthetic and commercial home furnishing solutions that exceed customer expectations and reflect home furnishing the IKEA way.
- Providing home furnishing solutions for a single product or a combination of products to improve people’s life at home.
- Working with limited range collections to inspire customers to visit the IKEA store more frequently.
- Contribute with initiatives that will grow the business and support long-term profitability and execute the agreed plans together with the Com&In; team and other functions.
- Respect routines and responsibilities, work together with Com&In; team and other functions, act quickly to exploit commercial opportunities and understand the impact of your actions on the financial results.

As a Design Technologist, you will be a key member of the UX team, creating compelling experiences for smart home products and our eco-system that can reach a wide variety of people. You will be our prototype guru with a main assignment to help with early testing of ideas, for both physical and digital experiences, as well as late stage concepts. Your responsibility will be to secure a seamless transition, from ideas to technology, throughout the process. You will work in close collaboration with Designers, Engineers, SW Architects and Leaders secure the right prerequisites for you to be the bridge between design and technology.

 Moreover, you will:
Use creative problem solving to help translate technology into easy-to-use products that simply just work
 Be a wizard with both the soldering iron and screen-based UI prototyping tools.
Learn new prototyping tools with lightning speed and enjoy playing with anything from Home Automation to Arduino, from custom PCBs to Node-RED
