Job Description
The Product Lifecycle Engineer plays an important role in our business and is responsible for taking care of and maintaining our products in running range. It is through our product we secure our mission at IKEA: “To create a better everyday life for the many people”. As Product Lifecycle Engineer you have a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of many people, around the globe. This is not just a way of saying. The Product Lifecycle Engineer is one of the roles in our product development teams who is securing that everything is connected in a good way, so the impact is real and deep. You will be doing this by taking part in and leading improvement projects, handle administration/documentation, as well as securing compliance and verification activities. It´s about securing that our product information is up-to-date and according to IKEA documentation guidelines and standards. You will work closely with the engineers in the product development teams, as well as have a close dialogue with the purchasing organization, requirement development organization and suppliers to secure for the successful product-implementation. In your work you will be cooperating with several teams and product areas in parallel.
So, in short you are going to work with the following areas:
Conduct changes on product documentation including technical requirements, CAD drawings and packaging solutions
Securing the complete product documentation is up to date during the lifetime of the products
Be part of developing the team of product life cycle engineers to secure excellent performance

You will be the one identifying gaps in product documentation – and the one closing them. It will be a highly rewarding work. And yes, it will be a lot of fun!
Qualifications
You are an Engineer, with a university degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. You have some experience in working with product development and/or creation and maintenance of product documentation and preferably, some experience with working within appliance industry. Your knowledge in 3D drawings and use of SolidWorks will be considered as an added advantage. You work in a structured way with analytical skills and to take the lead in your own work, as well as in your contacts with internal and external stakeholders. Furthermore, you have strong communication skills and you build good relations based on trust. As a person, you are positive, flexible and supportive. IKEA of Sweden is a truly global environment, with colleagues from all over the world and you therefore need to be fluent in English both verbal and written.
Additional information
This is a permanent position based in Älmhult, Sweden.
Please note that it is required to be located physically in Sweden and working a majority of the week at the office in Älmhult. Älmhult has commuting possibilities with hourly trains to Malmö, Lund and Växjö and an IKEA shuttle bus back and forth to Helsingborg three times a day.
