As a Product Requirement Engineer (Regulatory and Compliance) at IKEA RA Food Services you will belong to the Engineering function, and you will report to the Engineering Manager. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the exciting growth of food by securing product and labelling compliance for IKEA Food Products as well as creating processes and ways of working on various requirement topics. We are growing, which means that you will be growing with us.
As Product Requirement Engineer for Food your main responsibilities are:
Provide active support to the product development teams providing advice on ingredients, recipes, product information and communication material compliance
Development of the label compliance for IKEA Food Range
Support implementing the process of stickers product information internally and with the external partners
Be in the lead of implementing regulatory and IKEA specific requirements on the IKEA Food Range
Making sure deadlines are met and products information is compliant with local market legislation
Create, maintain and collaborate with internal and external regulatory network
Part of the development team for a specific product category

You have background and experience in the food industry focusing on label development and food legislation requirements. You have a university degree in Food Engineering, Food Science or Food Technology. You are also fluent both in spoken and written English.
You are a good communicator with the ability to work with consultants and authorities. The skill of building networks and trustful relations will be important and require that you share and learn openly with others.
You lead by example, take responsibility for your own growth and development in the role, as well as being a true team player and contribute with competence to the rest of the team.
Your problem solving and structured approach is obvious, and you are improvement driven, self-motivated alongside with being result orientated and focused on details. You want to be part of a developing, changing business based on values and you have the interest and ability to handle and drive change in a complex, fast paced, international environment.

The position is based in Älmhult, Sweden. At IKEA of Sweden we have a strong sense in meeting each other and work together. We do offer flexibility with the possibility to work from home, but we want to meet you at the office most of your time and when the business requires us to meet physically.

As a Packaging Solution Engineer (PSE) you will be working in a great team where you will need to get involved early in the process, look for opportunities and gaps, investigate the unknown, guide and support, use your skills to take the design of the solution to an optimal level. You will work with both new development and improvements of the existing range by proactively searching for opportunities to challenge known patterns. You will work in close collaboration with your team and different stakeholders across the organization.
In this role you will be responsible for the design of packaging solutions using CAD, secure quality, and prerequisites for compliance by setting the relevant legal and functional requirements, verify through simulations and tests. An important part of your assignment is to maintain and secure that the information in our PLM system is up to date and accurate.
To succeed and shine in this role we are looking for you who have studied packaging development, mechanical engineering or equivalent. You have some experience in working with product development as well. It is meriting if you have knowledge in different materials such polymers, steel and wood, and different production methods. You have skills in SolidWorks or other corresponding CAD software, and basic knowledge in PLM systems.
Furthermore, you have elementary knowledge with strength calculations (FEA).
As a person you are down to earth, solution oriented and self-driven. You believe in the power of innovation with a clear ambition to make things better, searching for new simple and smart solutions. You hold a curiosity that will lead you and others forward in the unknown. You communicate in a clear and an open-minded way and you can build relations. We are looking for a Packaging Solution Engineer to our Business Area Textile, Social Entrepreneurship and Collections. 
You will be part of a product development team with an overall responsibility for the packaging solutions, to secure that our products reach our customers home neat and clean in all our sales channels. Our packaging solutions are and has always been an important part of our business. 

You will work in close co-operation with different stakeholders throughout the value chain as well as throughout the product lifecycle. This is done with a continuous improvement and right from the beginning approach, and always with a strong customer focus.  

As a Packaging Solution Engineer you will:

•    be responsible to develop, optimize, improve and document packaging solutions based on set standards and solutions, always with a continuous improvement approach and a strong customer focus
•    be responsible to verify that the packaging solution comply with set requirements and customer needs
•    work in close co-operation with stakeholders throughout the value chain to identify needs, requirements, limitations and opportunities for best possible packaging solution for manufacturing as well as for storage and transport. 
•    contribute in the development of IKEA common packaging standards, requirements and shared solutions
•    follow performance related to packaging and identify packaging improvement potentials and lead the execution of the same
•    contribute to the circularity agenda with your packaging expertise
