Working as a Product Lifecycle Engineer is a good way to get to know the IKEA way of working and be close to the core of our product development! The IKEA product range is designed to be functional, great looking, affordable, of good quality and sustainable. This is what we call Democratic Design and it´s a true team effort to make it happen! Our development teams consist of many different roles, such as Technical Project Leader, Requirement Specialist, Designer etc. And this is where you as a Product Lifecycle Engineer come into the picture as well!

What is the role all about?

The Product Lifecycle Engineer is an important player in the team, with responsibility to take care of and maintain our products in running range. This is not just a way of saying. The Product Lifecycle Engineer is one of the roles in our product development teams who is securing that everything is connected in a good way, so the impact is real and deep. You will be doing this by taking part in and leading improvement projects, handle administration/documentation, as well as securing compliance and verification activities. It´s about securing that our product information is up-to-date and according to IKEA documentation guidelines and standards. You will work closely with the engineers in the product development teams, as well as have a close dialogue with the purchasing organization, requirement development organization and suppliers to secure for the successful product-implementation. In your work you will be cooperating with several teams and product areas in parallel.

This is a temporary position during November 2022 – November 2023.

In your job you will do as follows:
Conduct changes on product documentation including technical requirements, CAD drawings and packaging solutions
Securing the complete product documentation is up to date during the lifetime of the products
Be part of developing the team of product life cycle engineers to secure excellent performance
You will be the one identifying gaps in product documentation – and the one closing them. It will be a highly rewarding work. And yes, it will be a lot of fun!

Qualifications

Who are we looking for?

You are an Engineer, with a university degree in Engineering or equivalent. You have some experience in working with product development and/or creation and maintenance of product documentation. You will have advantage if you have experience in working with appliances or other electronic products. Your knowledge in 3D drawings and SolidWorks will be considered as an added advantage. You work in a structured way with analytical skills and to take the lead in your own work, as well as in your contacts with internal and external stakeholders. Furthermore, you have strong communication skills and building good relations based on trust. IKEA of Sweden is a truly global environment, with colleagues from all over the world and you therefore need to be fluent in English both verbal and written.

The BA Range Engineering Leader is a business focused role in the center of IKEA Foods product development. Your assignment is to lead the planning of engineering for the complete Consumer Packaged Goods /Food Service range portfolio, being part of the Range & Product team. You do this by utilizing the full potential of the engineering network in our value chain, ensuring that all products deliver to set objectives and goals in connection to strategies and business plans throughout the full product lifecycle.
The Range Engineering Leader will work in the Consumer Packaged Goods / Food Service Range & Product team and report to the BA Range & Product Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Plan & secure deployment of innovative solutions and new materials
Plan engineering and specialist resources to the projects
Scope and brief projects to the development team as well as supporting them
Monitor and act on deviations
Set relevant KPI values in projects as running range improvement

Qualifications

About the job
As our Quality Leader you’ll lead the quality agenda across our Value Stream teams, and create the quality strategy.
