Right now, we are looking for a mid-to-senior level User Experience Designer for IKEA Home smart.
As a User Experience Designer, you will create compelling experiences for smart home products and our eco-system that can reach a wide variety of people. For this, you will define and control user flows and interaction paradigms for IKEA Home smart products and systems. You will occasionally lead external agencies for project-based UX design assignments and drive insight-based decisions through data and evidence as well as empathy. Furthermore, you will connect the needs of design, engineering and business in a great balance. You will do this by ensuring a clear synergy between user behavior, technology and IKEA needs and by challenging existing solutions by driving meaningful creativity throughout the development process.
Moreover, you will:
Support UX Leader in creating future UX Strategies and create aspirational concepts for the future of smart home
Use early prototyping and research as everyday tools to refine the experiences
Challenge existing solutions by driving meaningful innovation and creativity throughout the development.
Encourage stakeholders to prioritize solutions that are beneficial for the user, the society and the planet

Qualifications
We think you have a University-level education in the areas of Interaction Design, Industrial Design or Software Engineering. You have a proven track record as a UX professional, with ideally 5 years of experience as a designer working on innovative digital solutions, including interfaces for consumer products. Furthermore you have experience about modern digital and physical product development processes from global organizations, including Agile and Lean. You are skilled in storytelling, user flows, wireframing and usability with an ability to make complicated technology friendly to the many people. Our corporate language is English, so you need to be fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.

Job Description
There are people who design things, and people who build them — at least that’s the way it’s traditionally done. We are looking for a true maker who has the passion for prototyping in physical and digital, to be the bridge in between. Is it you?
As a UX Technologist, you will be a key member of the UX team, creating compelling experiences for smart home products and our eco-system that can reach a wide variety of people. You will be our prototype guru with a main assignment to help with early testing of ideas, for both physical and digital experiences, as well as late stage concepts. Your responsibility will be to secure a seamless transition, from ideas to technology, throughout the process. You will work in close collaboration with Designers, Engineers, SW Architects and Leaders secure the right prerequisites for you to be the bridge between design and technology.
Moreover, you will:
Use creative problem solving to help translate technology into easy-to-use products that simply just work
Be a wizard with both the soldering iron and screen-based UI prototyping tools.
Learn new prototyping tools with lightning speed and enjoy playing with anything from Home Automation to Arduino, from custom PCBs to Node-RED



Qualifications
You are a creative with solid technical experience from digital and physical product development of consumer products. You know how to make sure everything works together through prototyping, testing and research. Previously you have worked with developing interactive products/solutions that include software and electronics in an agile environment. Furthermore you have solid knowledge in digital solutions and digital interfaces for the IoT Industry/Market. The environment, we are working in, are dynamic and passionate and we are sharing a deep interest about life at home and customer needs.
