The role as Customs Trade Advisor will focus on monitoring new and changing legislation and regulations, within an assignment region, that govern and apply to Customs and Trade related activities and assist in the development of processes and systems within IKEA to secure we comply with new legislation and regulations.

Main responsibilities:
Monitor and analyse the latest developments in local rules, regulations and legislation. Communicate any events with potential business impact internally, ensuring timely updates for assigned region and countries within assigned region.
Maintain strong relationships with industry partners and relevant authorities involved in importation and exportation within the assigned geographical locations as necessary to support and grow IKEA’s business.
?Identify participation in government or industry initiatives, changes or legislations necessary to support and grow the IKEA business.
Support with input from assigned geographical locations towards global organizations.
Participate in, have access to and address national official publications or requests for comments/consultancy within mandated timeframes and deadlines in support of IKEA business.
Maintain thorough files and records regarding initiatives, legislative changes, regulatory changes and regulatory updates. These should be sufficient for IKEA Supply to track discussions, status, actions taken, next steps, or to participate in industry events.
Identify relevant topics for internal communications, ensuring that global activities related to customs and trade are understood by key stakeholders and their impact on IKEA is clearly communicated.
Work with the operations and compliance teams in assigned geographical locations to ensure a clear understanding of initiatives, changes, or legislation on working methods, IT systems, and documentation. Provide support for incorporating these changes as necessary.
Secure new legislation is communicated through assigned regional Customs Compliance Teams and Requirements and Compliance inflow processes. When needed participate in CRIO/PRIO for implementation of legislation into the IKEA value chain
Support with the establishment and refinement of working methods specific to trade related activities and implement within assigned region.
Actively identify and assess risks related to customs and trade activities that may affect IKEA‘s business and customs operations within assigned region.
Maintain and enhance regulatory knowledge and analytical skills to keep pace with evolving business needs, regulations, and systems.
Contribute to global or regional projects related to trade topics??

A day in this role, at the core of the product development at IKEA of Sweden (IoS) in Älmhult, is filled with support to the IKEA organisation globally regarding customs issues and working with the customs classification of our product range. We can promise you (with a guarantee) a stimulating and dynamic work environment, with a lot of contacts worldwide and challenges that will trigger your problem-solving skills. The challenges can be to find the right Tariff number for the classic BILLY bookcase, or for the newcomers in the range. Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has a background from trade, with a solid knowledge of customs classification, based on previous work experience. In a nutshell - you know a lot about of customs regulations and legislations - and how to interpret it. You have appropriate training within the area of customs or trade. As a person you are persistent and are motivated by and put pride in securing that all information are correctly handled in a good way. You know how to?create a good?understanding about customs classification of products in a communicative way.
You also have some knowledge about free trade agreements and country of origin. Many different functions at IKEA of Sweden need support in customs related questions and therefore you need to have the ability to create clarity, build and maintain networks as well as have confidence in speaking in public. Your analytical mindset is sharp, spiced with a natural curiosity to seek information. For us at IKEA, the most important thing is that you share our values. In addition, we’d like to see you are not afraid to show your face (on screen or off screen) and be heard, as in this role you will lead trainings and information distribution to the entire IKEA product development organization. You know a lot about rules of origin, free trade agreements, anti-dumping, safeguards and/or customs legislation, and you are ready to share. Job Description
As a Global Customs Coordinator you will be working with customs classification of the IKEA range. The work offers you different tasks like support, administration and development – of both routines as well as IT-systems. With your sharp eye and thorough way of working you´ll be securing that we are having the correct tariffs on all our products. You will get a deep understanding of the IKEA processes. In your everyday work there are lots of contacts with people from IKEA and authorities all over the world, which will give you a very good view of our range and development. In this role you will be able to have a job with a lot of variation as well as width.


Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a background from trade or logistics and have good capability in customs or shipping based on previous work experience. You have appropriate training within the area of logistics or trade. As a person you thrive by working in?an independent and self-driving way and you are?eager to learn. You are strongly persistent and are motivated by and put pride in securing that all information are correctly handled and at right place. You know how to?create a good?understanding about classifications of products like tariffs, free trade agreements and country of origin, in a communicative way. Many different functions at IKEA of Sweden need support in customs related questions and therefore you need to have the ability to create clarity, build and maintain networks as well as have confidence in public speaking. You need to have an analytical mind set and a natural curiosity to seek information. For us at IKEA, the most important thing is that you share our values.
