Job Description

In your role as a Lead software engineer, you will lead, develop and guide software engineering teams within IKEA Marketing & Communication.
Your assignment will include:
Lead the technical development of our solutions within Marketing & Communication.
Co-define the technical roadmap along with the architects and lead software engineer.
Setup development practices working in Agile teams. Ensure good code quality, Test driven Development, Build CI/CD pipelines, ensure the code reviews are done.
Help introduce design patterns that can help development of technical solutions which is optimized as per need.
Secure proper design, architecture, and technology for 3D, images, motion media solutions and/or products related to Marketing Communications to enable IKEA to provide an omni-channel experience to its customers.
Take part in design and development of digital capabilities within Marketing & Communication to enable creation of impactful communication across channels and markets for IKEA customers and co-workers.
Collaborate and help the technology team of solution architects, software and data engineers.
Help the product owners and specialist on the technical inputs with respect to the roadmap of the products.
Ensure quality guidelines and control process are created and implemented for the technology platforms and products
Collaborate closely with business and IT stakeholders (including suppliers) to improve solution architectures with learnings from best practices within software development and industry.

You will bring with you deep understanding and experience of shaping architecture, combined with knowledge of the current and future digital technology trends, industry standards, architecture frameworks and modelling techniques. You know how to work in an Agile, DevOps working set-up and how to deliver cloud-based solutions.
You have knowledge of the following areas:
Experience in both the design and development of relevant software solutions, ideally gained through work on significant technology projects within a global enterprise setting.
An understanding of RESTful APIs and modern query languages for APIs
Familiarity with languages such as .NET, C++ or python, version control workflows, collaboration tools and knowledge on patterns to create scalable, maintainable and reliable systems.
Understanding of modern data architectures, data extraction mechanisms, functional decomposition and workflow engines
Experience on Azure cloud technology and platforms from architecture and development perspective.
M.Sc. in computer science or equivalent academic degree within the area of IT
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to engage and communicate with business-leaders and Technology Leadership.

A couple of years of Kotlin experience, with a good understanding of modern Android design patterns (MVVM, dependency injection, etc) and constructions (Jetpack components, ViewModel, Flows, etc)
We are currently re-writing our app to Jetpack Compose.
Good knowledge about standard toolsets (Android Studio, Gradle/Gradle Wrapper, GitHub Actions, etc)
Good understanding of the Android application stack (lifecycle, view hierarchy, navigation, state keeping etc)
Good understanding of the developer testing infrastructure (Unit testing, mock frameworks, concurrency model testing etc)

As an Software Engineer you are developing high quality embedded software that is used in our physical IKEA Home smart products.
