Job Description

Our Exhibition team leads the development of IKEA Museum and Museum of Furniture Studies by initiating new exhibitions and improving existing ones. As Curator in the Exhibition team, you develop exhibitions with a holistic and visitor centric approach in line with the overall business priorities to strengthen IKEA positioning in Life at Home, Home Furnishing, Democratic Design and Älmhult as a design destination. You will lead the creative process of the decided exhibitions from ideation to final exhibition and include relevant teams, functions, and specialists into the process. You execute development of content in line with set directions, IKEA tone-of-voice and other communication guidelines. Together with relevant stakeholders and assigned specialists, you create the narrative for the exhibition and quality secure that the content is relevant for the decided topic and the visualization of the exhibition is according to the set frameworks.

Qualifications

You have a strong will to deliver on goals and in time, through involving, engaging, and motivating others – building trust and good relationships.
We see that you have strong leadership capabilities and good communication skills with the ability to inspire others and express yourself clearly. You have the capacity to initiate and develop exhibitions, lead creative processes, and cooperate effectively with designers and other specialists. You have the capability to explore different perspectives, be curious, and to lead with processes, engaging people in parallel. You have an eye for details as well as the totality.
We expect you to have a university degree in design, curation, art direction and/or experience in design, curation or creative direction in a global organization. You have experience of leading creative processes in a bigger context. It is beneficial if you have experience working with exhibition development.
We see that you are fluent in English, both spoken and written.

Vårt Visitor Experience team ser till att våra gäster får uppleva vår genuina, varma och välkomnande atmosfär på alla våra olika mötesplatser inom IKEA i Älmhult. Vi interagerar med våra gäster på IKEA Museum, IKEA Hotell, Meeting Center, Aktivitetshuset och många fler platser i Älmhult. Vi delar också med oss av vårt IKEA-arv genom inspirerande berättelser om vår historia, livet hemma, heminredning och design. Vi ger våra gäster en inblick bakom kulisserna på IKEA och vårt varumärke.
Du guidar dem till alla våra spännande platser i Älmhult och/eller ger dem en guidad tur genom IKEAs historia.
Dina huvudsakliga arbetsuppgifter:
Att få alla gäster att känna sig välkomna och säkerställa att deras upplevelse blir den bästa möjliga, oavsett var i Älmhult du träffar dem.
Koordinera aktiviteter som bidrar till gästupplevelsen och tillgodoser gästens behov.
Ge professionell service och kunna dela med dig av djupgående IKEA-kunskap samt introducera gästen till Älmhult som en destination
Genomföra guidade turer
Förstå besökarnas behov och förväntningar samt ta ansvar om oförutsedda situationer uppstår
Hantera betalningar på våra olika mötesplatser
Se till att alla områden är i gott skick på daglig basis



Kvalifikationer
Vi söker dig som är älskar att ge service och skapa minnesvärda gästupplevelser. Du har alltid fokus på gästen och vill alltid överträffa förväntan. Du brinner för IKEA:s varumärke samt vår kultur och värderingar. Du är en naturlig kommunikatör som utan problem kan kommunicera med människor, både individuellt och i stora grupper, på både svenska och engelska. Vi ser helst att du har arbetat inom serviceindustrin tidigare och har god kunskap om digitala verktyg och system. På IKEA Älmhult AB möter vi våra gäster i alla våra olika verksamheter, så som: i Köket på IKEA Museum, IKEA Hotells restaurang Grillen, MUMS och Aktivitetshuset. Job Description
As the Exhibition Manager you will strategically lead, manage, develop and implement the Exhibition direction in accordance with the business unit’s overall assignment, IKEA Älmhult AB’s future direction and business plan to strengthen the IKEA Brand.
You will secure that the exhibition direction (and connected plans) delivers towards:
Offer high quality exhibition experiences that attract and converts set target audiences
Interact with people in the connected of life at home, home furnishing and design, design history and learning about design
Connect with people by inviting people behind the scenes of IKEA and the Museum of Furniture Studies, giving a more intimate experience of the brand/s.
Be an inspiring and creative meeting place where people of all ages can learn, meet and interact



In this role, you will lead and develop the Exhibition team, creating the right conditions for people to perform, deliver and grow. You will drive the development and continuous improvement of our Exhibition Direction for both IKEA Museum and the Museum of Furniture Studies, ensuring that creativity and artistic quality remain at the heart of establishing Älmhult as a well-known design destination.
You will actively involve and align with key stakeholders - internally across IKEA’s networks and externally within the wider creative community - to secure collaboration and shared direction. With a strategic mindset, you are responsible for ensuring that our exhibition plans align with set strategies and support our visitation and conversion goals.
You will also safeguard our visual and brand integrity, ensuring that the IKEA visual identity, trademarks and tone of voice are present and upheld across all partners and for both brands.
Above all, you act as a role model, leading by example and bringing the IKEA culture and values to life in everything you do.

Job Description
The IKEA Museum has an exciting opportunity for a proficient and experienced Conservator to join the department of Archive & Collection and contribute towards the care and preservation of a unique collection.
The Conservator role requires you to have good general knowledge in the care of a wide range of materials, and experience of working in the area of conservation.
This role involves working closely with various cross-departmental stakeholders, and cross-museum collaborations.
Your key areas of responsibilities will be:
To independently assess collection conditions and contribute to the preventive conservation of collections made of a wide range of organic and inorganic materials by proposing environmental management solutions for long-term preservation.
To lead on the care of the collection through environment (temperature and relative humidity), pollutants and light monitoring, reporting, data analysis, as well as supporting Integrated Pest Management.
To set out guidance for colleagues and stakeholders on preventive conservation, collection care and risk management related matters.
To independently solve complex problems regarding preventive conservation, applying a high degree of expertise, judgement, innovation and adaptability for the display, storage, and handling of objects.

You will report to the Archive & Collection Manager at IKEA Älmhult AB.


Qualifications
To succeed in this role, we see that you have:
Recognized professional conservation qualification to degree level or equivalent
Experience of working in the heritage sector (e.g. museum, gallery, library, archive)
Proficient and demonstrable conservation skills.
Strong understanding of mechanisms involved in material deterioration
Experience of devising preventive measures
Involvement in display, loans and storage related activities
Understanding of conservation theory
Experience of planning your own work and objectives to deliver set objectives on time
Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills

You are an open and effective communicator and fluent in English, both spoken and written.
It will be a benefit if you have knowledge about the IKEA range, both present and historical.

Job Description
The IKEA Museum has an exciting opportunity for a proficient and experienced Conservator to join the department of Archive & Collection and contribute towards the care and preservation of a unique collection.
The Conservator role requires you to have good general knowledge in the care of a wide range of materials, and experience of working in the area of conservation.
This role involves working closely with various cross-departmental stakeholders, and cross-museum collaborations.
Qualifications
Your key areas of responsibilities will be:
To independently assess collection conditions and contribute to the preventive conservation of collections made of a wide range of organic and inorganic materials by proposing environmental management solutions for long-term preservation.
To lead on the care of the collection through environment (temperature and relative humidity), pollutants and light monitoring, reporting, data analysis, as well as supporting Integrated Pest Management.
To set out guidance for colleagues and stakeholders on preventive conservation, collection care and risk management related matters.
To independently solve complex problems regarding preventive conservation, applying a high degree of expertise, judgement, innovation and adaptability for the display, storage, and handling of objects.

You will report to the Archive & Collection Manager at IKEA Älmhult AB.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, we see that you have:
Recognized professional conservation qualification to degree level or equivalent
Experience of working in the heritage sector (e.g. museum, gallery, library, archive)
Proficient and demonstrable conservation skills.
Strong understanding of mechanisms involved in material deterioration
Experience of devising preventive measures
Involvement in display, loans and storage related activities
Understanding of conservation theory
Experience of planning your own work and objectives to deliver set objectives on time
Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills

You are an open and effective communicator and fluent in English, both spoken and written.

Job Description
As a Daily Prodcution Leader (Sous chef) you secure and contribute to a positive and excellent food experience by preparing high quality food. The role is equivalent to a Sous chef with the responsibility of securing the daily operations in the kitchen in our restaurants. This means preparing our food offer according to set routines and ways of working with high quality. You are also expected to be a strong contributor in the development of existing routines and ways of working as well as setting new ones. You coach your colleagues in accordance and ensure all co-workers are up to date on ways of working, rules and regulations within food.
Your specific responsibilities will be:
Making sure that the daily operations in the kitchen run smoothly, efficiently and according to our routines.
Preparing food as per the menu plan and following the kitchen protocols.
Taking care of daily deliveries maintaining inventory.
Maintaining and securing that the tasks are being performed in accordance with the HACCP plan.
Being part of menu planning and responsible for ordering of stock, groceries and inventory materials.

Qualifications
We expect you to have extensive experience and knowledge from the restaurant industry where you have had the responsibility for daily operations. You are used to taking responsibility for what needs to be done and are also able to coach and lead your colleagues in taking their responsibility for their tasks and ensuring an excellent food experience for our guests.
Specific requirements:
Working experience of leading daily operations in a restaurant/kitchen or hospitality environment.
At least 3-5 years of experience working as a Sous Chef in a larger restaurant or kitchen setup.
Effective communication skills and ability to engage and involve others in a good way.
Having experience and background of being a positive role model for your colleagues.
Excellent in English language both spoken and written. Knowledge of Swedish language will be an added advantage.

Job Description
As the Head of Collections at The Museum of Furniture Studies you will lead and secure maintenance, research and the presentation of the museum collection.

Job Description
The Project Leader will lead and facilitate projects and initiatives within The Museum of Furniture Studies. You will continue the work of ensuring establishment and further development of The Museum of Furniture Studies in Älmhult. You will also be responsible of developing the Museum of Furniture Studies programme offer.
In this role, you will play a key role in both internal and external collaborations, ensuring smooth processes and great long-term relationships with stakeholders. You lead project teams and coordinate people to perform and deliver through our company values. You will keep track on scope, time, costs and apply applicable delivery methods and tools. We see that you lead with communication and manage change, dependencies, interfaces and risks within the projects and initiatives you are leading. You lead by example and promote our company culture and values.
The museum is located in Älmhult, Småland, Sweden but you will work in an international arena.

Job Description
The Museum of Furniture Studies Manager will establish The Museum of Furniture Studies in Älmhult and online, ensuring its attractiveness and contribution to Älmhult as a global design destination.
You will make sure that we develop and secure a unique experience through a constantly developing offer with exhibitions, seminars, education, trainings, workshops and more.
You will be responsible of securing running operations of The Museum of Furniture Studies, safeguarding a unique and relevant experience for all visitors (online and offline) at all times. Job Description
På IKEA Älmhult AB möter vi våra gäster i alla våra olika verksamheter, så som: i Köket på IKEA Museum, Lobby restaurangen eller Grillen på IKEA Hotell, MUMS och Aktivitetshuset. Vi söker nu dig som brinner för mat och att skapa en fantastisk matupplevelse för våra gäster under frukost, lunchrusning och kvällsservering. Som Food production co-worker har du en viktig roll i att förbereda, laga och servera frukost, lunch och middag för våra gäster.

Qualifications

The IKEA Museum has an exciting opportunity for a proficient and experienced Conservator to join the department of Archive & Collection and contribute towards the care and preservation of a unique collection.
The Conservator role requires you to have good general knowledge in the care of a wide range of materials, and experience of working in the area of conservation. This role involves working closely with various cross-departmental stakeholders, and cross-museum collaborations.
Your key areas of responsibilities will be
To independently assess collection condition and contribute to the preventive conservation of collections made of a wide range of organic and inorganic materials by proposing environmental management solutions for long-term preservation.
To lead on the care of the collection through environment (temperature and relative humidity), pollutants and light monitoring, reporting, data analysis, as well as supporting Integrated Pest Management.
To set out guidance for colleagues and stakeholders on preventive conservation, collection care and risk management related matters.
To independently solve complex problems regarding preventive conservation, applying a high degree of expertise, judgement, innovation and adaptability for the display, storage, and handling of objects.



Qualifications
To succeed in this role, we see that you have:
Recognized professional conservation qualification to degree level or equivalent
Experience of working in the heritage sector (e.g. museum, gallery, library, archive)
Proficient and demonstrable conservation skills.
Strong understanding of mechanisms involved in material deterioration
Experience of devising preventive measures
Involvement in display, loans and storage related activities
Understanding of conservation theory
Experience of planning own work and objectives to deliver set objectives on time
Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills

You are an open and effective communicator and fluent in English, both spoken and written.
It will be a benefit if you have knowledge about the IKEA range, both present and historical.

To lead on the care of the collection through environment (temperature and relative humidity), pollutants and light monitoring, reporting, data analysis, as well as supporting Integrated Pest Management.
To set out guidance for colleagues and stakeholders on preventive conservation, collection care and risk management related matters.
To independently solve complex problems regarding preventive conservation, applying a high degree of expertise, judgement, innovation and adaptability for the display, storage, and handling of objects.



Qualifications
To succeed in this role, we see that you have:
Recognized professional conservation qualification to degree level or equivalent
Experience of working in the heritage sector (e.g. museum, gallery, library, archive)
Proficient and demonstrable conservation skills.
Strong understanding of mechanisms involved in material deterioration
Experience of devising preventive measures
Involvement in display, loans and storage related activities
Understanding of conservation theory
Experience of planning own work and objectives to deliver set objectives on time
Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills

You are an open and effective communicator and fluent in English, both spoken and written.
It will be a benefit if you have knowledge about the IKEA range, both present and historical.

Developing a cohesive style guide / meta data tag system, naming and file standards for image categorization on the forthcoming DAM.
Uploading images, with pertinent metadata, into the archive system/database.
Overseeing the digitizing of the physical image archive.
Organizing and catalogue the physical image archive ensuring the best archival practices are followed.

BA/BFA in Photography or Library Sciences and being a trained photographer is a pre-requisite.
Thorough understanding of Photoshop, image editing, and various digital file formats.
Familiarity with best archival practices for both physical and digital image assets.
Atleast 4+ years related work experience.
Working experience in a museum database will be a strong advantage.
Extreme attention to detail and organization.
Able to problem solve and comfortable working both independently and as a team member.
